The holiday suit challenge continues for Wheeling City Council, and this time Mayor Glenn Elliott and Councilwoman Wendy Scatterday getting on board.

Last week, Councilman Ty Thorngate raised $500 in just 24 hours for the Greater Wheeling Coalition of the Homeless.

In trade, he promised to wear a Christmas suit at Tuesday’s meeting.

Scatterday and Elliot said they will follow ‘suit’ only if the GoFundMe raises over $2,500 by noon on Tuesday, December 19.

As of Sunday night, the GoFundMe is close to $900.

The money will help primarily single mothers with young kids with basic necessities and Christmas gifts.
