World War II Vet graduates

Carloss Gray, a 90 year old World War 2 veteran, has graduated from Paden City high school.

He left high school originally to serve in the war. His friends and family joined him at the ceremony.

Gray served on the USS Howard F. Clark Destroyer ship and was a former Constable of Tyler County and a volunteer fireman in Paden City.

Receiving his diploma is something Gray has wanted for a while, and is overjoyed to have finally been given one.

“It pretty please me to have one cause I know I can go to work after I get one,” Gray said.

“Paden City High School for the past two years has had a 100% graduation rate, and we’re heading towards our third year in a row with 100% graduation rate,” said Paden City High School Principal Jay Salva. “So, I know my kids see how important it is, they know how important it is, and hopefully this spreads to other schools as well.”

Gray served for the Navy.
