WV Gov. Justice: Teachers will go back to work Thursday

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has just announced that teachers will go back to work on Thursday after reaching an agreement with union officials.

Governor Justice has announced that all public employees will receive a 3-percent raise, and employees in the education sector will receive an additional 2-percent.

This means that education employees will see a 5-percent raise in the first year.

He also announced that they will be looking into a permanent solution to PEIA.

During his press conference, Governor Jim Justice mentioned Wheeling-area sixth grader Gideon Titus-Glover, who helped him look at the situation differently.

Gideon stood up during Monday’s town hall meeting at Wheeling Park High School to ask the Governor some questions.

Governor Justice said that teachers will return to school on Thursday, and will use Wednesday as a “cool down” day.
