West Virginia Northern Community College’s Industrial Technology Center is officially open.
WVNCC held a unique ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning.
Since the new facility houses the college’s welding and petroleum technology programs, WVNCC had one of their welding instructors cut through a piece of metal with a cutting torch.
Afterwards, faculty and local officials had the chance to tour the new building, which opens to students on Monday, August 27th.
Welding instructor Brandy Killeen told 7News everyone is excited to use the new space.
“It’s exciting because we’ll have more opportunities to learn more here, to do more job related activities and get more hands on experience. The small area we had before was more confined, so we couldn’t do as much,” Killeen said.
Officials said scholarships are available for both programs.
