BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Mountaineers have taken the floor ahead of their first round clash with Maryland.

The game between No. 9 WVU and No. 8 Maryland was set to begin at 12:15 p.m. ET. The contest is the inaugural first round game at the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

West Virginia and Maryland are meeting in men’s basketball for the 39th time in a series that dates back to the 1920s. Their most recent meeting was also contested at the NCAA Tournament back in 2015.
