JEFFERSON COUNTY, Oh. (WTRF) — A two-vehicle accident that occurred on John Scott Highway sent two people to a Pittsburgh hospital this afternoon.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, the call came out around 2:15 p.m..

Officials say the crash happened on John Scott Highway near the intersection of US 22 after a driver traveling up the hill in the left lane went left of center hitting an oncoming vehicle carrying two passengers.

The OSHP says both passengers were life-flighted by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Presbyterian hospital with severe injuries.

Officials say the driver who went left of center was not injured.

The OSHP says the driver may have been driving under the influence.

No more details are being given at this time as the investigation continues.
