The 10th annual Ohio Valley Rib and Chicken Cook-Off is officially underway at Wheeling’s Heritage Port.
This year is extra special as the cook-off join forces with the Wheeling 250 Celebration.
There are seven barbeque vendors, three food vendors, a mechanical bull and more.
You can taste the delicious dishes from noon until 11:00 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
“We bring vendors in from Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cleveland to feed our people so we can come together and have a nice time,” said organizer Bill Brooks.
Some sad news though, there was supposed to be Gateway Clipper cruises for the event.
Unfortunately, this is no longer happening because the river is too high and unsafe for their boats to dock.
If you purchased tickets, you can get a refund by contacting the Wesbanco Arena box office.
All the other Wheeling 250 events scheduled will still be taking place at Heritage Port, so if you head down for some food, check out some history too.
