A bunch of leftovers and nobody to eat them? Take them to your local soup kitchen.

News

When you’re wrapping up your Christmas dinner leftovers, you may want to consider dropping some off at your local soup kitchen.

The Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling says this time of year, they’re stocking pilling things like frozen meats to last throughout the year.

“Anything left over from parties or if you get a turkey or ham you’re not going to use, from a business, as a gift, then you can bring it in and we actually use them all year long. We keep them frozen and we serve ham and turkey all year long,” said Becky Shilling-Rodocker, Executive Director, Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling.

If you’re planning on taking anything, remember to keep your items refrigerated beforehand and double check the expiration dates.

The Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling is located on the 1600 block of Eoff Street in Wheeling.
