The Barnesville Police Department recovered more than 60 pounds of drugs following a traffic stop near S. Lincoln Ave. early Sunday morning.

Police say the vehicle was pulled over for moving violation. Law enforcements conducted a vehicle search after suspecting possible narcotics.

Methamphetamine, heroin, prescription pills and marijuana were found inside the vehicle, in addition to a handgun and more than $800 cash.

The driver and the only passenger in the vehicle were transportated to the Belmont County Jail. Both offenders are facing first degree felonies for drug trafficking.
