The lines wrapped around the checkout as the Belmont Count Sheriff’s “Shop With a Cop” day happened at the St. Clairsville Walmart this morning.
Through community donation, the Sheriff’s department took 31 students from Belmont County Schools on a shopping spree!
Their shopping carts were stuffed with this year’s hottest toys and fresh winter gear.
Parents say times are tough and today and today was a blessing.
“I am grateful for today. I just got out the hospital. I’ve been in there for two days. I’m grateful for today to bring my kids to shop,” said Melanie Nightengale, a mother from Belmont County.
“We have a lot of fun. That’s what it’s about. I wanna thank the people in the community who donate and help make this happen,” said Dave Lucas, Sheriff, Belmont County.
Belmont County Children’s Services helped select this group of kids.
