Boggs Run Road to West Virginia Route 86 is still closed as of Monday evening after a pile of rock coal slipped down over the hill and into the roadway on Sunday.
Marshall County EMA, Boggs Run Volunteer Fire Department, West Virginia DEP, and Murray Energy officials have been on scene all day long to figure out exactly what happened.
“Just avoid coming down Boggs Run off of West Virginia 86,” said Marshall County Emergency Management Director Tom Hart. “We’ve got equipment and personnel up there continuing to clean up. Just avoid the area. That’s the best thing to do at this point.”
Hart told 7News there’s no danger to the public, but the road will remain closed as officials continue to work.
