Children at the Holy Family Child Care and Development in Wheeling took over cooking duties Tuesday morning.
This was all part of a cooking contest for National Child and Adult Care Food Program Week.
Judges, including 7News Anchor Rachael Dierkes, ranked special dishes created by the children.
“It was a teachable a moment for our teachers,” said Michele Forsythe, Executive Director of the Holy Family Child Care and Development. “To teach them how to cook, how to slice and how to assemble the snacks.”
The winning dish was a ladybug and ants on a log creation.
