A Terra Alta man was arrested after leading deputies on a chase through three states Friday.
A warrant was issued for Jeremy Silveira, 32, by the West Virginia State Police, and deputies with the Preston County Sheriff’s Department attempted to assist troopers in serving the warrant.
Silveira was observed driving a green Kia SUV northbound on Route 26 north of Brandonville, deputies said, and when they attempted to stop him, he ran. Deputies said Silveira led them on a chase from Preston County into Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Silveira struck two of the Preston County Sheriff’s Department’s cruisers in Maryland and struck another in Pennsylvania. After striking the cruiser in Pennsylvania head on, Silveira was taken into custody by Preston County deputies and turned over to units from the Pennsylvania State Police, who had responded to investigate the accident.
Silveira was taken back to Preston County and charged with fleeing with reckless indifference. He will also face numerous charges in Pennsylvania and Maryland, where he struck multiple cruisers, deputies said.
