Local police believe that a bank robbery suspect identified by Pennsylvania and Maryland State Police may also be responsible for two robberies in Belmont County.
The alleged bank robber, 57-year-old Charles Gibson, Jr., was identified by authorities on Friday, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Nov. 24, police responded to a robbery in Bridgeport, Ohio at the Unified Bank, in which the suspect presented a note threatening the use of a weapon. The suspect was able to flee the scene.
On the morning of Dec. 13, police in Garrett County, Maryland were called to the scene of two armed bank robberies, the first happening an hour prior to the second. The suspect was again able to get away.
Bridgeport Police believe that Gibson is the suspect for all four robberies.
