A Brooke County woman has been convicted of presenting false claims under medical programs.
64-year-old Patricia Lancaster falsely completed and submitted time sheets to Healthways, Inc. for adult companion services.
Officials say she was ineligible to receive payment because she lived with the adult client–a fact that she hid from the company.
After a full investigation by DHHR’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, charges were filed.
She has been sentenced to 5 years of supervised probation and has to pay the DHHR more than $181,000.
