Four Ohio individuals have been arrested after police say narcotics were being trafficked out of a Powhatan Point home, while a child was residing there.
Officers with the Bridgeport Police Department conducted an investigation and concluded that narcotics were being trafficked out of a home on Taylor Street in Powhatan Point. After obtaining a warrant, the Belmont County Major Crimes Unit searched the home.
Three suspects — Dylan Michael Bumgardner of Powhatan, Dawnisha Annette Menough of Bellaire, Trista Kay Cervelli of Powhatan Point — attempted to flee the home during the search. All three were arrested, and each faces separate charges.
A fourth suspect, Jonathan Thomas Shaw, attempted to barricade himself in the home’s garage. He was arrested for a felony warrant out of Cleveland.
During the search, a small child was present, and suspected heroin and fentanyl were found under the child’s bedding. This prompted officers to contact the Department of Job and Family Services.
Along with the Belmont County Major Crimes Unit, units from the Bridgeport, Powhatan Point, and Saint Clairsville Police Departments helped in the execution of the search warrant.
— Bumgardner faces charges of obstructing official business and a probation violation.
— Menough faces charges of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs.
— Cervelli faces charges of drug paraphernalia, obstructing justice and felony child endangerment .
