A Wheeling man is behind bars after police say an alleged domestic incident turned into a police chase.

Anthony Wayne Bruce Jr., 30, was reportedly inside of a home in South Wheeling screaming at a woman.

According to reports, Bruce threw a frying pan and hit a door with his fist during the argument.

He was reportedly intoxicated.

According to police, the two were possibly arguing over an old relationship.

Officers were called, and Bruce reportedly ran from the house. Officers then attempted to cut him off at the alley while he was running, and Bruce fell on his face.

According to officers, Bruce was ordered to stop, but he refused, and continued running toward Eoff Street. Officers then found him hiding in the bushes, where he was arrested.

Bruce is currently in the Northern Regional Jail, and is facing domestic abuse, fleeing on foot, and obstructing charges.
