A Wheeling man is behind bars on 11 charges after leading Moundsville Police and Marshall County Sheriffs on a major chase Tuesday night.

According to police, Randy Whipkey, 37, was stuffing two big screen televisions into a stolen car when they were called to the Sleep Inn.

Police ordered for him to stop, but Whipkey started to climb a fence to enter the woods and was tased.

Whipkey reportedly fell from the fence, but as officers were removing the prods, he took off again.

According to police, Whipkey ran into the woods where officers tracked him, eventually catching up with him.

He was caught by Moundsville PD, Marshall County Sheriffs, Glen Dale PD, and WV State Police.

Whipkey is currently behind bars and faces the following 11 charges: entering without breaking, grand larceny, malicious assault, two counts of fleeing/obstructing, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving suspended, two counts of destruction of property, and two counts of hit and run.

No officers were injured, and there was only cosmetic damage to the cruiser.
