A man who was found guilty of sexual assault has received his sentence from Judge James Mazzone on Tuesday morning.
David Thomas was sentenced to no fewer than 25 years in a state penitentiary for sexual assault in the first degree. He will be supervised on parole for 20 years following his release, and he will be required to register as a sex offender with West Virginia State Police for the rest of his life. Thomas will also be required to pay back all court costs from the trial.
Thomas says that he plans on appealing his guilty verdict.
“I know I’m 25 to 100, but I know I’m coming back,” he said after receiving his sentence.
