A traffic stop in Wheeling on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a Martinsburg man on gun and drug charges, according to Wheeling Police.
A Wheeling Police officer conducted a traffic stop on Eoff Street while patrolling East Wheeling. Police say the officer smelled what he believed to be marijuana, prompting a search of the vehicle.
Inside, the officer allegedly found a large amount of cocaine and crack cocaine, more than $2,000 in cash, a firearm, and instruments reportedly used to weigh narcotics.
The officer arrested David Anthony Richardson Young, 32 of Martinsburg, and was taken to Northern Regional Jail. He is charged with felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to deliver.
