Some new details have been released after a woman was arrested for allegedly kicking a Wheeling police officer in the face on Sunday.
According to Public Information Officer Phillip Stahl, a fight began in Generations Restaurant Sunday evening, and escalated outside in the parking lot.
A Wheeling Police Officer was at Generations while off-duty, and reportedly attempted to break up the fight.
Stahl said that the officer was there while off-duty and in plain clothes.
While attempting to break up the fight, the officer reportedly identify himself as a Wheeling Police Officer.
The officer was reportedly kicked by a boot in his face during the altercation.
According to officials, Mara Brown, 26, from Wintersville, is still facing a felony charge of battery on an officer.

According to Wheeling Police, officers were dispatched to Generations Restaurant Sunday evening for reports of a fight. The fight reportedly involved several people, and had moved outside to the parking lot when officers arrived.
As officers were trying to break up the fight, Mara Elizabeth Brown, 26, allegedly kicked an officer in the face.
Brown is now facing a felony charge of battery on an officer.
The officer is reportedly fine.
