Oklahoma man arrested for brandishing weapon, unlawful assault on Wheeling P.D. officer

Crimes and Courts

An Oklahoma man was arrested early Wednesday morning after Wheeling police responded to a call about a possible intoxicated driver.

According to police, a call was made at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday about a driver who might have struck the barrier on I-70 near exit 0. It was suspected that the driver was intoxicated.

At first, officers could not find the driver, but after some investigation they were led to a business on South Penn Street. Officers approached the suspect, at which point he allegedly displayed a firearm before attempting to conceal it. Police then ordered the suspect to place his weapon on the ground (which he reportedly did), and he was then arrested.

Armando Sanchez-Pedro, 31 of Ponteau, Oklahoma was arrested and taken into custody. He faces charges of brandishing, obstructing and unlawful assault of an officer.
