UPDATE 12:06 p.m.:

A robbery investigation continues after a man was reportedly pinned against a wall, beaten, and robbed on the jogging trail in Wheeling Sunday evening.

Officers say they do believe they have suspects in this case, but are not releasing information on those suspects as their investigation continues.

According to the victim, he met up with some friends near the Fort Henry Bridge just after 11:00 Sunday night.

The victim told police that one man and two women allegedly attacked him at gunpoint, hitting him several times before taking his money and running.

Public Information Officer Philip Stahl said there does seem to be some conflicting information in the story, and no  evidence was able to be collected from the scene, so the investigation is still in its early stages.

Stahl said that it’s a good reminder to watch where you’re walking at night.

“Yeah it’s never really a good idea to walk in any area especially where it’s not properly lit. Heritage Port is someone lit, because you know it’s a public venue, but never take the risk,” said Stahl.

Stahl says officers are speaking with the victim on Monday for more information.

This is the first robbery in Wheeling since the alleged armed robbery and shots fired incident on January 15th at an apartment on Main Street in North Wheeling.
