Crimes and Courts

Officials are investigating an armed robbery that took place Tuesday night in Moundsville.

According to officials, this happened at 9:06 p.m. at the Clark Loading Zone gas station off of 4th Street.

The suspect was reportedly wearing a bright blue hoodie and a full face ski mask.

Officials say he was armed with a knife and demanded the clerk open the register.

He reportedly got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

“We’re looking approximately in the area of 5’9″ to 5′ 10″ something like that, in excess of 160-180 in weight,” said Detective Bill Whitelatch.

This is the second time that this gas station was robbed at knifepoint since January 9th of last year, and police are comparing the two cases.

Officials are asking residents who live along Ohio, Potomac, and Kanawha Streets to check their home surveillance systems.

If anyone has any information, they are urged to call Moundsville police at 304-845-1611.
