Authorities in Moundsville are investigating reports of an incident involving a five-year-old boy at Dairy Queen last weekend.
Moundsville Police Chief Tom Mitchell said a family was at the Dairy Queen early in the evening on Saturday, when a man reportedly pulled up in his car next to their five-year-old boy, who was playing in the mulch.
Officials say the man reportedly called to the boy, and attempted to lure him over to his car.
The child’s mother reportedly noticed the man and called the boy back to the group. The suspect then drove off.
According to the family, the suspect is described as a black male driving a white Chevy Cavalier.
The family told officials that they were unsure of the man’s intentions, and were unsure of what was said to the child aside from calling him to the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
