After more than a week of speculation and theories, the mysterious death of a Pennsylvania teacher took another twist.

The Mother’s Day slaying of former Aliquippa teacher Rachael DelTondo originally led police to focus on Sheldon Jeter, 20, DelTondo’s on-and-off again boyfriend of the victim.

Police reportedly took various items from Jeterincluding the clothing he allegedly wore that night, as well as his PlayStation and some notebooks.

According to CBS affiliate KDKA, police were searching for a handgun and blood-stained clothes from Jeter’s residence, but were unable to retrieve them.

Discrepancies in his testimony have also raised questions as to Jeter’s involvement in the killing, in which DelTondo was shot in front of her family’s house in Aliquippa, KDKA reports.

“I do not think the discrepancies are incriminating,” Michael Santicola, Jeter’s attorney, told KDKA’s Andy Sheehan. “In fact, I would probably challenge the fact that there are even discrepancies.”

Police have not stopped their investigation at Jeter: they also executed a warrant on the private Facebook account of Stephanie Watkins, the wife of Aliquippa police officer Kenneth Watkins, and the mother of Lauren Watkins, who dropped DelTondo at her home the night of the murder.

Kenneth Watkins has been on administrative leave during the investigation.
