Traffic stop leads to discovery of methamphetamine, oxycodone and alprazolam

WHEELING, W. Va. (WTRF) - A Bellaire man was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of several drugs in his vehicle late Tuesday night.

Officers from the Wheeling Police Department initiated a traffic stop at Jacob Street-16th Street intersection around midnight, police say. During the course of the stop, the officer reportedly noted that the driver was acting in a suspicious manner, which prompted him to call for an exterior K9 search.

The search reportedly led to the discovery of methamphetamine, oxycodone and alprazollam, as well as other paraphernalia.

Police say Kenneth Edward Tribbett, 46 of Bellaire, Ohio was arrested and taken to the Northern Regional Jail. He is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone and possession of alprazolam.
