Authorities told 7News a Wetzel County man faces charges of one count of cruelty to animals.
Wetzel County Sheriff Michael Koontz confirmed a complaint was filed just this week against James Keeney.
Sheriff Koontz said they’ve received complaints about Keeney starving his animals for years on his property off of Route 89.
A Wetzel County even woman bought one of Keeney’s horses, last week, because she felt so bad for it.
She took it to the vet to find the horse was badly starved and dehydrated.
Authorities have rescued all animals from the property.
Keeney has been summoned to appear in Magistrate Court.
