A Cleveland man is facing drug charges after police say they found a large amount of narcotics stemming from a foot chase on Wheeling Island Thursday evening.

Police officials say officers were called to the 400 block of N. Wabash St. after reports of suspicious activity.

According to the police report, when officers arrived on scene they said they smelled marijuana. That’s when they say Timothy Norman, 37, got out of the car and ran. Police say he was caught a short time later.

The report states that during the investigation, officers discovered a large amount of crack cocaine, in addition to heroin, cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills.

Norman is charged with three counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver. He was transported to the Northern Regional Jail.
