Woman arrested for allegedly fabricating Moundsville luring incident

Crimes and Courts

A Moundsville woman has been arrested for allegedly fabricating a child luring incident at the Loading Zone, according to officials.

Moundsville Police Chief Tom Mitchell confirms that Amanda Ross, 34, has been arrested for reportedly fabricating the incident. According to Chief Mitchell, the incident never happened.

Detectives spent a week investigating two similar incidents. The first incident reportedly occurred at the Moundsville Dairy Queen. Detectives believe this incident did happen.

Mitchell says Ross was arrested on a warrant and was charged with falsely reporting an emergency incident, which is a jail-able offense.

Officials proved this incident to be fabricated after reviewing surveillance video in the area.

Ross did admit that it was fabricated to police when asked.

She was taken to Northern Regional Jail, and is expected to be arraigned this morning.
