Early morning fire kills three in Weirton

News
ONLY ON 7NEWS: Fire officials are investigating an overnight two-alarm fire in Weirton.

Fire Chief Jerry Shumate told 7News the blaze broke out around 3:30a.m. Sunday.

Three people, two males and one female, have been confirmed dead. The female was found dead at the scene.

The two males were treated and taken to Weirton Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead.

“The building was a total loss,” Chief Shumate explained. “When we pulled up, there was flames coming out of all the windows through the roof. The house was fully involved upon our arrival. There’s no reason to believe it was an incendiary fire. Right now, everything looks like it was an accidental fire. Fire Marshal’s office will hold an investigation open.”

This investigation is still ongoing.
