New program gets kids thinking about their future

Education

While most students take the summer off from school, a new online program in Jefferson County is looking to keep students sharp.

“Quest for Success” features virtual learning segments to prepare students for the real world.

The program is also designed to get students thinking about their future with a little incentive.

Along the way, students can earn prizes such as:

  • Backpacks
  • Water bottles
  • Fitness towels
  • Restaurant gift cards
  • Movie passes
  • Pool passes
  • Tickets to Kennywood
  • Tickets to the Carnegie Science Center.

The Jefferson County Educational Service Center is sponsoring the free program, from July 1-28.

The summer program is funded through a 21st Century Grant for county students in grades 5-8.
