A WVU student was transported to the hospital Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle driven by WVU defensive lineman Darius Stills in Morgantown, according to police.

Officers with the Morgantown Police Department responded to the 400 block of Oakland Street in Morgantown for a report of an auto pedestrian incident . According to police, officers arrived and found WVU student Joyelle Williams, 19,  from Jessup, Maryland, suffering from superficial abrasions. Police said that Williams was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, Darius Stills, 20, currently a defensive lineman for the West Virginia University football team, was driving without properly clearing the ice and frost from his windshield. According to police, this obstructed his view and prevented him from seeing Williams.

According to police, Stills was cited for the incident, and officers are preparing the crash report at this time.
