Power restored to hundreds in Wheeling

Power has been restored to all customers impacted by the outage.

Wheeling Hospital is running on full power at this time.


ORIGINAL:

According to AEP, there are approximately 900 customers without power in the Clator/Morning Side areas of Wheeling due to an equipment failure at the substation near Perkins.

Wheeling Hospital has also been affected by the outage. Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations Gregg Warren says the hospital is on back-up generators.

Warren says the patients are all fine. The Wheeling Fire Department and EMA are on stand-by at the hospital to assist if they are needed.

At this time, there is no scheduled restoration time.
