A ceremony was held at the federal courthouse in Wheeling today for the recently appointed U.S. Magistrate Judge James Mazzone into the Federal Court.
Dozens of friends, family and fellow law officials gathered there in honor of this appointment.
Mazzone received so much support, people had to watch on monitors inside another courtroom because there weren’t enough empty seats.
The newly appointed Federal Judge served as a State Circuit Court Judge for 17 years and says he’s very humbled and excited about this next chapter.
“I learned a lot as a State Circuit Court judge and my approach has always been rather simple and that is to give everyone their day in court, hear their arguments and in the process, treat them with a degree of dignity and respect and make a decision,” said Mazzone.
Mazzone is filling the seat of retired Magistrate Judge James Seibert.
