Moundsville City Council moves forward with East End Playground renovation

News

Moundsville City Council updated several city ordinances and sought to put additional sales tax revenue towards a promised use Tuesday evening.

For some time, city council has realized East End Playground has needed a bit of tender loving care but for a variety of reasons, the city couldn’t provide it.

This year, council gave the go-ahead for plans drawn up by City Manager Rick Healy to renovate the playground.

Much of the work will go towards making it a playground which everyone can enjoy, regardless of age.

“There’ll be some equipment on the playground that will be available there for everybody to use,” said Rick Healy, Moundsville City Manager. “We’re going to rehab the small shelter out there, and make that a nice little shelter for rentals, for small birthday parties.”

City Council also heard the 2017-2018 General Fund Audit had found no issues.
