ABC Entertainment has decided to cancel the ‘Roseanne’ reboot after a racist tweet from Roseanne Barr.

Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, released the following statement on twitter:

Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel our show.

On Tuesday morning, Barr apologized for suggesting that former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett is a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and the “Planet of the Apes”.

The now-deleted tweet read “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj”.

Barr apologized for her statement, calling it a “bad joke” about her politics and her looks. Jarrett, who is African-American, was an adviser during Barrack Obama’s presidency.

In her apology, Barr said that the comment was “in bad taste”.

Wanda Sykes, who is a consulting producer on ‘Roseanne’, tweeted earlier that she would not be returning to the show.
