You’ve heard of maternity leave and paternity leave, but what about “furturnity” leave? As in, time off for employees who recently adopted a new, furry friend.
It’s the newest perk being offered by the Minneapolis digital marketing firm “Nina Hale.” It lets employees with new pets work from home for a week.
The company says the goal is to celebrate their diverse work force and support work-life balance. To make sure employees don’t abuse the policy by simply getting a new goldfish each week, the policy does not apply for pets in tanks or cages.
