New evidence has been collected in the search for a missing Belmont County couple after multiple search warrants were executed in the Rush Run area of Jefferson County Monday afternoon.
Joni Davis, 55, and Brian Goff, 64, of Martins Ferry have been missing since June 10, 2018.
They vanished, along with Goff’s light blue Oldsmobile 88, and were last seen leaving the St. Clairsville Pizza Hut.
According to Belmont County Sheriff Dave Lucas, evidence was collected from three homes in the Rush Run area, but the search won’t stop there.
Lucas said his deputies also plan on executing two more search warrants on Tuesday.
The Sheriff said he will not release information on what was collected from these homes.
He also wants to put to bed any rumors on social media.
He confirmed, at this time, there have been “no bodies found, and no one has confessed.”
“Believe me, when there is something to report, the public and the media will be the first to know. But in the meantime, if you see something posted on social media, please don’t pass it along,” Lucas said.
Joni Davis’ sister, Jackie, is just grateful that the investigation is going strong.
“I have waited so long for this investigation to get to this point,” said Jackie Davis. “All law enforcement agencies working together to find the answer–what happened to Joni and Brian? It’s so hard to ignore all rumors, but we’re trying. I have been patient and that has been very hard, but their time has come to be found.”
