A new police chief has been named in Bridgeport

The Village of Bridgeport has named a new police chief.


Tuesday during a special meeting, the village council voted to appoint John Bumba in as the new chief as current chief Andy Klotz will leave the force on May 4th before becoming a patrolman in St. Clairsville.


It was also decided that Bumba would make a salary of $48,000 per year. The measure passed on a vote of five in favor and one councilman abstaining to vote.
