According to a Ohio High School Athletic Association press release, game officials are dropping like flies.
However, the No. 1 reason isn’t due to age or fatigue. A recent survey by the National Association of Sports Officials suggests that 75 percent of all game officials quote parents as the primary reason they quit.
Unsportmanlike conduct from passionate parents are causing young officials to hang up the whistle, OHSAA reports.
