A man is in the Belmont County Jail tonight after allegedly threatening a group of people with a loaded gun in the parking lot of the Morristown McDonald’s.

Sheriff Dave Lucas says a group of people were walking toward their car when the man pulled up, got out waving a gun, and stopped them.

Deputies arrived to find him still pointing the gun, and the sheriff says it took a while before the man would comply with their order. They called for an e-squad, but the man refused treatment so they took him to jail.

The sheriff says there was an insulin kit in his car, so it may have been a medical issue.
