New Ohio bill increases age to receive driver’s license

A new proposed bill would require teen drivers in Ohio to wait a little longer for their license.

Drivers under 18 would hold their learner’s permits for a full year before earning their license at 16 and a half-years-old at the earliest. 

Teens account for five percent of the state’s drivers.

However, ODOT officials have found data that claims 15 percent of the state’s vehicle accidents are caused by the teen drivers.
