Two men are in the Belmont County Jail after allegedly breaking into cars in Martins Ferry overnight.

Martins Ferry Police Chief John McFarland says they got the call from an alert citizen who saw the two men wearing dark clothing, hoods and masks. They reportedly were walking and testing the door handle of every parked car.

Levi Grant Ray, 21 of Bridgeport, and Tanner Ray Goddard, 22 of Paden City, were both arrested and jailed. They face charges of criminal mischief and theft.

Police say they recovered stolen property from the two men.
