Out with the old and in with the new!

After almost 50 years in business, a staple in the Bellaire community has decided to close its doors. However, a new business owner with ties to the area has claimed the home of the former Frizzi Market and Grocery Store.

Jennifer Kocher was born and raised in the Ohio Valley before graduating from Bridgeport High School. Kocher went on to graduate from the Ohio State University, where she received a degree in finance.

In 2005, Kocher founded Kocher Foods International Inc. Kocher operated the business under Around the World Gourmet Marketplace in Columbus for several years before moving to its’ new location in West Bellaire.

“You would not believe how many people have called me, reached out to me on facebook, stopped at the store from St Clairsville, Wheeling, Colerain, [and] other areas,” said Kocher.

Around the World Gourmet Marketplace specializes in manufacturing and distribution of specialty foods including gluten free, organic, and vegan foods.

Kocher has hired 10 new employees at her new location while keeping all former employees of the Frizzi Market and Grocery Store.

The former deli operation will also continue along with the new business. “We have kept the original  pepperoni rolls, their deli, we have the cheapest deli ,meats and cheeses around,” said Kocher.

The store is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

Stay with 7News this week as Taste With Rach travels to Around the World Gourmet Marketplace to get a close-up look at how they make their delicious gluten free pizza and bakery items.
