Democratic candidate for Ohio governor Rich Cordray got the endorsement of the United Mine Workers on Friday.
During a visit to the United Steelworkers Hall in Martins Ferry, Cordray met with local residents and supporters.
It was one stop in his “economic opportunity tour” throughout Eastern Ohio.
He said he wants every person to have the opportunity for affordable health care.
And he will fight to keep people with pre-existing conditions covered.
Candidate For Governor, Rich Cordray said, “Any one of us we know or any of our family members could be diagnosed tomorrow or next week with some new condition that we never knew we had. The notion that we could lose our health care over this is something that we put behind us seven years ago. We need to defend that. That would be a peace of mind issue for millions of Ohioans and I will stand strongly to defend that provision.”
He also said every Ohioan should have the opportunity to have access to education and workforce training needed for good paying jobs.
He said he’ll grow the middle class as governor by investing in infrastructure and creating good paying jobs.
Cordray also said he’ll bring economic opportunity to Ohio’s small and medium-size towns.
