The polls are officially closed, and early voting has wrapped up in West Virginia.

Saturday was the final day to vote early for the primary election throughout the Mountain State.

One race gaining national attention is the race for the Republican United States Senate nomination.

Candidate and Attorney General Patrick Morrisey visited the Wheeling area as the pollls closed Saturday to meet with constituents and discuss his ideas.

“We have to be results oriented, ” Morrisey said. “What can you do to get your conservative policies through and make people’s lives a little bit better? That’s what I’ve been working on, and it makes me feel good and it charges me up to help people every single day, especially those who are less fortunate.”

Also in the Republican Senate race are Congressman Evan Jenkins, Don Blankenship, Bo Copley, Jack Newbrough, and Tom Willis.
