Politics aside, having Vice President Mike Pence visit Wheeling next Thursday is a big deal.
The last time a sitting Vice President visited the Ohio Valley was back in 2012, when Joe Biden came to Martins Ferry.
Congressman Bill Johnson said he’s really not surprised about the news.
Both Vice President Pence and President Trump visited this area several times during their campaigns.
According to the Congressman, the Ohio Valley has also been on the administration’s radar recently because of steel, possible ethane cracker plants, storage hubs, and much more.
“This is really exciting. We love to showoff what’s going on here because it’s a great story to tell. With how the policies of tax reform, fewer regulations, putting Americans back in charge, and good ole-fashioned American ingenuity and innovation are having an effect on the quality of lives of people living here in our region,” said Johnson.
Congressman Johnson added that anytime this area can get the president, the VP or someone from the administration to visit, it’s a huge honor.
