“We are free from their liberal lies,” said Congressman Evan Jenkins.

U.S. Senate candidate Evan Jenkins is fuming mad, at a TV ad campaign targeting both him and Republican Senate rival Patrick Morrisey.

“Evan Jenkins can’t be trusted. Duty & Country is responsible for the content of this advertising” and
“So maybe he should run for Senate of New York? Yeah, this dog won’t hunt,” say the ads from the Duty & Country Political Action Committee.

The Duty and Country PAC is being run by longtime Democratic operative Mike Plante, and former U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin, who sent Republican Senate Candidate Don Blankenship to prison. Their goal?

“Sure we’d like to see Joe Manchin get re-elected, of course. And I think a lot of people around the country want to see Joe Manchin get re-elected. The stakes in this election have never been higher,” said Mike Plante, “Duty & Country” spokesman.

Republicans say it’s outside interference in their primary.

“Booth Goodwin is in the building behind us. The Democrats are to my right over here. They need to tell Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to stop,” said Rep. Evan Jenkins, (R) Candidate for U.S. Senate.

“The didn’t say a word when Mitch McConnell poured 700 thousand dollars in here, against Don Blankenshp. Now he’s crying foul. It’s the height of hypocrisy,” said Mike Plante.

Congressman Jenkins also refuted an Ethics complaint state Democrats filed against him in Washington, for using House footage in one of his ads.

“The Democrats will stop at nothing to try to destroy my candidacy for the United States Senate. I have not done anything wrong,” Rep. Evan Jenkins, (R) Candidate for U.S. Senate.

“Not only is the West Virginia Senate race the number one, marquee race in the nation the year, the same could be said for our Senate primary,” said Mark Curtis, 13 News Chief Political Reporter.
