As the Ohio Valley moves deeper into the winter season, healthcare providers are preparing residents for the inevitable.
The change of weather can cause serious health problems to those who spend most of their time outdoors. Please keep a few precautions in mind as the temperature declines.
“You want to avoid all ill contact when at all possible,” said Cheri Taggart, a Nurse Practitioner for MedExpress. “Cough and sneeze in the crook of the arm, good hand sanitizing, hand washing. You also want to do your diet and exercise to keep yourself healthy.”
Taggart reminds the public to dress in layers when outdoors, and watch out for signs of hyothermia and frost bite.
